Event Description: On June 29th L/A Arts in conjunction with Art Walk Lewiston Auburn present the second annual Diner en Blanc, an international phenomenon where thousands of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space. The Diner en Blanc will be located at Dufrense Plaza beginning at 6PM and ending at 8PM. Michele Choiniere will perform her original and radiant Franco influenced folk music during the dinner; Michele performs in both French and English. Guests provide tables, white table cloths, chairs and picnic for the outdoor Dufresne location—some tables will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Set up for Diner en Blanc begins at 5PM. In the case of rain, the event will be located in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library—tables and chairs provided at the rain site, though guests would still provide their own food and drink. Michele Choiniere is an award-winning Smithsonian Folkways recording artist, with a radiant, compelling voice. Her music and artistry capture a delicate sensibility, overlaying a raw authenticity.
