Event Description: A series of FREE informational seminars will be hosted by Kaplan University’s Paralegal Studies Department at their Lewiston campus beginning this month and throughout 2012. The first of several topics will be focused around Tenant – Landlord Rights and Responsibilities. This two-hour round table will address a variety of Maine laws governing issues that are frequently encountered by people renting or providing rental housing in Maine. Topics will include: Tenant Privacy & Landlord Access Laws, Lease Charges and Late Payments, At Will Tenant Liabilities; Utilities, Maintenance, and Repairs, Maine’s Bedbug Legislation, and much more. This interactive and extremely informative seminar scheduled for Friday, October 28 from 2:00 pm. to 4:00 p.m. is designed to provide attendees, both renters and landlords, with legal knowledge and a better understanding of landlord-tenant obligations. Whether you're a new landlord or tenant or just need a refresher on Maine laws, this comprehensive overview is for you!
