Event Description: No manager looks forward to approaching employees about job-performance problems, yet few tasks are more important. Supervising People- The Essential Skills for Leaders will help you and identify communication barriers, performance issues and difficult employees. Learn the skills you need to address the difficult issues and improve team productivity. Module One: Communication In this session, you will learn about the nine behavioral skills for effective communication and ways you can improve in each area and develop an action plan for further improvement. Module Two: Coaching This session will help you build your coaching skills by showing you how to help others learn from their mistakes, how to use feedback to reinforce desirable behaviors, how to motivate different types of people, and how to caringly confront problem behaviors. Inspire others to learn, grow and develop, and build a more loyal and committed workforce. Module Three: Handling Difficult Employees This session will help you understand why performance problems occur and how to resolve them. You will learn to identify potentially difficult employees and your role in intervention with them, how to use the Intervention Model, and how to use an Intervention Conference to address difficult behavior to determine when behavior merits employee termination. Module Four: Teambuilding In this session, you will learn how to formulate strong teams through a climate of open communication, trust, and accountability. This session takes you step by step through the process from creative ways to encourage teamwork to tips for handling conflicts effectively. Module Five: Team Problem Solving Discover five tools that will help you recognize a problem, learn how to analyze a problem and its cause, find out how to outline your problem solving/decision making, and learn the eight tips that can improve a team’s process.
