Event Description: Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA is a contemporary musical take on a grand classic tale of the timeless bond between an enslaved Nubian princess and an Egyptian soldier. As forbidden love blossoms between them, the young lovers are forced to face death or part forever. Together, they set a shining example of true devotion that ultimately transcends the vast cultural differences between their warring nations, heralding a time of unprecedented peace and prosperity. The cast of Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA at Community Little Theatre has been announced by director/choreographer Vincent Ratsavong. Angela Robitaille will play the title role. She will be remembered as "Lucy" in last summer's production of Jekyll & Hyde. Shawn Robitaille is "Radames" and will be remembered for his stunning performance in his leading role in Jekyll & Hyde. CLT favorite, Katie St. Pierre plays "Amneris", the Pharoah's daughter and Radames's betrothed. Derrick Lacasse is "Mereb", a Nubian slave whose loyalties are torn between his native land and his devotion to his Egyptian masters. Megan Gynes is "Nehebka", Phil Vampatella is "Pharaoh", and Charles Warren is "Amonasro", the King of Nubia and Aida's father. Longtime CLT veteran actor and director Mitchell Clyde Thomas will play the role of "Zoser", Radames's father and the show's villain.
