Minot, a small town rich in agricultural history, borders the City of Auburn and is close to the Oxford Hills region. In the early days, Minot had many mills, including grist, wool, bark, shake and shingle, and lumber mills. Today, Minot is a growing community. Town government consists of a 5-member Board of Selectmen and School Committee. Minot Consolidated school houses K-6 and the rest of student body is educated @ Bruce Whittier Middle School and Poland Regional High School, both in Poland which is R.S.U. #16 which Minot is a member of with the towns of Mechanic Falls and Poland.
