The building is architecturally significant as the work of Charles F. Douglas, one of the leading architects in Maine. This unaltered commercial structure has remained in Lewiston’s central business district for many years. Historically, the building served as the city’s only theater for a number of years. Although the hall is no longer existent, the building is important as part of a concentration of meeting halls on Lisbon Street.
